I finally finished my thank you notes. Woo-hoo, under six months! That’s within a good and decent standard, right? Right? Anyway, not sure why it took me so long. I certainly couldn’t be more grateful for our bountiful wedding. I’m sure if I could have emailed them, they’d be done a long time ago. In the end, when I really buckled down to do the last half (the rest had been written over the last three months, so check the yellowness of your envelope and carbon-date the ink to see where you rate), it was a rather pleasant passtime. Something about reminiscing about the specifics of each different relationship. That said, for any relevant situation in the future, Amy insist that she will be writing all the thank yous. Hers have been done since early December.

Wedding pictures are already starting to pop up. Amy and I are hoping that everyone who took pictures at the event will post them to Flickr and tag them with “Amy & Nick’s Wedding” - make sure to use the quotation marks. Then they’ll all appear in one easy to access area. Emily and Katie have already posted some!

Update: Now with more pictures from Patrick and Emily.

Update: Nice pics from Jim!

My step-cousin-in-law Jim posted a cool, short montage of wedding clips to YouTube. Anyone else have video?

How long have they been married?!

What do we call Amy?
Amy is keeping her name, so you can continue to proudly call her “Amy Kamenick.” Or Vanilla K if you’re down.
Where’s the honeymoon?
We’ll be spending two weeks in my mother’s maidenland, Colombia. We’re really excited about honeymooning properly in the beautiful and historic coastal city of Cartagena, and I can’t wait to introduce my bride to my Colombian relatives while we spend the rest of our trip in Medellín as well as at my uncle’s finca
Can we see the ring?
After much consideration, we’ve decided not to follow the engagement ring tradition. We are certainly excited about our wedding rings; shopping for them has been fun.

Less than ten hours to go! After what I have to admit was a rather anxiety-filled week, everything really seemed to fall together very well at the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner last night. Now all that’s left is to spend a day with my boys while Amy spends the day with her girls until we have to show up at 4:00. I can’t wait!

A special thanks to my wonderful stepmother, Deb. She put together what had to be the most gorgeous and romantic groom’s dinner last night. Everyone was incredibly impressed, and Amy and I were deeply touched. Thanks, Deb!

30 days until we say I do! The plans are all coming together nicely, and we’re looking forward to a wonderful evening surrounded by friends and family. We crossed the 100 RSVP mark yesterday.

Speaking of RSVPs, if you haven’t sent yours in yet, you’re welcome to let us know “online” or via phone, IM or email. It also may be possible that your invitation lacked a reply card or the stamp on it. For this I apologize. After I had stuffed all the envelopes, I noticed that I had three postcard stamps left over. Oops. Dwight can be really distracting.

My bachelor party was last week. I can’t fully describe how much fun it was. We had a blast playing paintball and dodgeball. Relaxed at my place for a bit, enjoyed a cigar on the roof, and went out to dinner at Figlio. Some of us even got dressed up.

On the field and court, a couple of the boys learned the value of the cup, and for the next few days many of us were incredibly sore (dodgeball is very demanding!). That aside, the day was injury free!

I think my favorite moment came during the last game of paintball. The field had been narrowed down to Jason and me versus Marc and Carlos. Pinned behind a tree, I found myself caught in the crossfire from Marc and Carlos, with Jason in a similar boat. J started firing on Carlos, and I saw Marc’s bright white head sticking out from his hiding spot. In a few seconds, Jason shot Carlos, and I nailed Marc. Walking off the field, victorious, I went to shoot of my remaining paint only to find my gun already empty. I won the last game of the day by hitting the last guy in with my very last paintball! A very cool coincidence!

All in all, the day was just fantastically fun. I felt truly touched to be surrounded by so many good friends. Thanks to all of you, and especially to Ryan for putting the day together!
